It Is Not Difficult To Climb Mount
Kilimanjaro
There are tougher and easier routes to climb on
Kilimanjaro
When you want to climb the Uhuru Peak (over 19,000 feet), you do need to be in a really good physical shape and
dedication is necessary as the climb is only suitable for those that have a lot of experience. It is definitely a
tremendous achievement but you might want to consider something a little less challenging in the event that you do
not have what it takes.
Get experienced guides
You should know that there are 3 volcanos in the Kenyan mountains: Shira, Mawenzi and Kibo. All are quite
challenging but if you want to go up, there are surely different guides that have a lot of experience in
climbing Kilimanjaro that can help you out. These people know the mountain very well and
can even share so many interesting facts that a regular guide would not be able to.

This is the type of approach that you need to have if you want to climb Kilimanjaro. There are so many different
mountaineers that said they felt like being on a holiday when in the area. This happens because of the experience
that is created.
Whenever referring to mountain climbing, we make the connection with something that is really difficult and the
climbing conditions that we imagine are always really harsh, filled with dangerous elements.
Kilimanjaro is definitely not like that. We can easily compare this with simple trekking as climber safety is
always guaranteed by people that would come with you.
Try different routes on
Kilimanjaro
As you surely imagined, there are routes that are tougher and routes that are easier. If you want to go on an
expedition that is not so challenging, you can always go for the Machame, Rongai or Morangu routes. They have
different cabins on the way and you will thus end up feeling comfortable most of the trip. The cabins do have all
that you would expect from bathrooms to beds. In movies we see those really harsh conditions but that is definitely
not the case when you choose the route wisely, just as with most mountains from around the world.
Experienced climbers can take tougher
routes
In the event that you are a really experienced climber that is currently looking for a real challenge, you can
obtain that when you climb Kilimanjaro. In this situation you would need to focus on Northern routes or one of the
two tough routes: Umbwe or Lemosho. In most cases the hike would take 5 to 9 days (including return) but you would
not spend all the time climbing. Most of the trip is relaxation and sightseeing.
Till now there have been so many celebrities that climbed Kilimanjaro. If you take a look at the list, you will notice that
many regular people with close to zero mountaineering experience managed to do so.
If they managed to, there is no reason why you should not. However, you need to make sure that your Kilimanjaro
tour is offered by someone that has a lot of experience and that someone that knows the mountain really well will
come with you on the adventure of a lifetime.
