Maldives Island Hopping
Enjoy the Splendor of Island Hopping in the Maldives
Islands
Exploring the pristine beauty of the Maldives
Islands is an amazing way to spend a vacation. The locals call island hopping, "an excursion", which seems to as
apt a name as any. Island hopping is one of the best ways to enjoy the incredible beauty and splendor of these
islands, as well as the incredible turquoise waters surrounding them. Whether you're taking a family getaway, a
romantic vacation for two, or simply want an adventure, you'll find that these islands have what you
desire.
Family Island Hopping
Family island hopping is done the same way that
any other form; that is, you must find transportation from one island to the next. You'll find numerous uninhabited
islands, some of which allow camping. However, one of the best options is to hop resorts, spending a night or two
in each. Your first port of call should be Male, though; you'll need a map of the area, as well as information
about the resorts, if you choose to go that route. If you desire, you can find much of the required information
right at the airport, as well as seaplane flights to outlying islands, speedboats for charter and
more.

Romantic Getaways
If you're looking for a romantic time for two,
you'll find that through island hopping, as well. Charter a dhoni (a local boat) to take you to a deserted island
for a picnic on a beach, or hop from one "adults only" resort to another. Walking the deserted beaches hand in hand
is an amazing experience; you'll feel like the only 2 people in Creation. In addition, you can hire boats on which
to stay, spending your time exploring the islands and your nights rocked by the gentle swells of a romantic
lagoon.
Adventure Island Hopping
Perhaps one of the most enjoyable experiences in
the Maldives is adventure island hopping. You can choose to do this through a chartered boat, or you can sail
yourself to various islands. Once you've landed, head into the jungle for an incredible look at local flora and
fauna, spend the night on a deserted beach (where applicable) and sail on the next day. You'll find that this is a
truly incredible way to experience the islands. Make sure you carry swimwear and snorkeling gear; exploring the
waters is an integral part of island hopping and will add an incredible dimension to your
adventure.
